Location
Trips start from and return to our operating base at Hatherton Marina on the Hatherton Branch of the Staffs & Worcs Canal between Cannock and Wolverhampton.

All vehicles and contents are parked entirely at your own risk.

Directions:
From M6. Leave at J12. Take A5 West towards Cannock. Take second right turn into Oak Lane (signposted Calf Heath). Turn right at end of lane, under motorway at Dog & Partridge pub turn left into QUEENS ROAD. Marina entrance is towards the end of this road, on the right, just before lock cottage (which is a large house). Gates to marina are set back from road.

From Cannock take A5 towards M6 J12. At Four Crosses pub turn left into Four Crosses Lane. After approx 1.25 miles go under motorway then continue as above.

PLEASE NOTE: There are other marinas nearby. Please use QUEENS ROAD entrance.

Bookings

Boats can be booked for weekend trips or longer and routes varied to suit individual needs.

We supply an experienced, competent skipper and a crew member.

We supply all diesel and gas and pots and pans, crockery and cutlery.

You supply the young people aged 11 - 18 and two group leaders all with a sense of fun and adventure.

You supply all the food (remember to feed the skipper).

You supply sleeping bags.

We are part of the National Community Boats Association (NCBA) network of training centres and deliver the Certificate in Community Boat Management (CCBM), which is a nationally recognised boating qualification.

Booking Fee

The booking fee for each boat is £110 per day for Walsall groups .

For example: a weekend trip from 5pm Friday to 3pm Sunday is 2 days = £220.

For groups outside the Borough of Walsall the hire charge is £140 per day.

As a non-profit making organisation our group rates are kept to a minimum.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES

The residential Youth Boats 'H F Truman' and 'A J Felgate' will be available to do day trips Mon - Thurs during the school summer holidays.

 
Pelsall Youth Club 2008

Numbers: Maximum of 12 people of which two must be adult Leaders over the age of 21.
Groups will be actively encouraged to help work locks and have a steer!
Ages: 13 years upwards
Cost: £100
Times: 10am - 4pm approximately
Routes: Usually on Staffs & Worcs canal from Calf Heath to Penkridge or Penkridge to Calf Heath.
Food and Drink: Tea/Coffee/Squash provided
Please bring a packed lunch
Clothing: Wear sensible footwear such as trainers, bring a cagoul and extra warm clothes.
